SPCA series

SPCA552E is a multimedia processor targeted to the cellular phone application. It integrates CMOS sensor interface, digital still camera processor, JPEG CODEC engine, LCM interface and a rich set of peripherals. Besides, it also integrates the sufficient low power SRAM to make the SPCA552E working without any external memory. With the above interfaces and built-in powerful functions, the SPCA552E could make the multimedia mobile application much easier to be implemented.

1. CPU
   * Build in 8-bit CPU.
   * Programmable CPU operating frequency from 750 KHz to 48 MHz.
   * The CPU firmware can be downloaded from the base-band processor.
   
2. Camera
   * Support CMOS image sensors of CIF (352x288), VGA (640x480) resolutions.
   * Support YUV-output sensors only.
   * Support both master mode and slave mode CMOS sensors.
   * Support preview digital zoom up to 4X ratio (640x480 pixel input and display resolution is 128x160, 176x220).
   * Support playback digital zoom up to 8X ratio.
   * Programmable frame rate.
   * For LCM resolution up to 128 x 160, the preview frame rate can be up to 30 fps in normal or horizontal flipping image, but is 15 fps in rotate or vertical flipping image.
   * For LCM with resolution 176 x 220, the preview frame rate can be up to 15 fps in normal, rotate or flipping image.
   * Video clip frame rate is up to 15 fps for captured image up to 176x144.
   * Screen-saver function to playback repeated animation automatically.
   * Support special image effects such as negative, binaries, contrast, cold, warm, sunset, emboss, sepia and gray scale.
   
3. Display
   * Support LCM with resolution up to 176x220.
   * Support 18-bit (RGB666), 16-bit (RGB565), 12-bit (RGB444) and 8-bit (RGB332) LCMs.
   * Support 68-series and 80-series LCM interface.
   * Support RGB-type LCM interface.
   * Support two LCM interfaces for main panel and sub panel.
   * Support output dithering.
   * Image rotation, mirror and flipping.
   * Image panning.
   * Digital zoom up to 4X.
   * Image overlay with graphics.
   * Alpha Blending.
   * Color key.
   * Support burst data transfer mode to HOST.
   
4. Host Interface
   * SPCA552E firmware can be downloaded form the base-band host via the SPI, I2C or 8-bit/16-bit parallel bus.
   * Support SPI, I2C and 8-bit/16-bit parallel bus to communicate with the host CPU.
   * Support 68-series and 80-series host interface.
   * Support big-endian and little-endian host interface
   * Support parallel/serial (SPI only) by-pass mode, allowing the host processor to access the LCM directly.
   
5. Compression/Decompression Engine
   * Standard JPEG CODEC (YUV422/420 for encoder and YUV422/420/444/411 for decoder).
   * Share DCT/IDCT hardware engine for base-band host usage.
   * Programmable JPEG Quantization table and Huffman table.
   
6. Graphic Engine
   * Controlled by external host processor or internal micro-controller.
   * Support 8-bpp palettes or 16-bpp color depth source image formats.
   * Support RGB and BGR color system.
   * Alpha-blending with dependent source and destination blending factors.
   
7. Package and Power
   * (1.8V)/(1.8~3.0V) dual power supply.
   * The power supply voltages of host bridge, LCM and image sensor are independent and can be different.
   * SPCA552A compatible 80-ball 8mm x 8mm TFBGA.
   * 81-ball 8mm x 8mm TFBGA.
   * 81-ball 7mm x 7mm TFBGA.
